How to configure webmail in Outlook?

Before configuring Outlook, you need to know the IMAP Server and the POP3 Server. We describe in detail below:

What is IMAP?

IMAP (Internet Access Message Protocol) is an email protocol that manages and retrieves email messages from the receiving server.

The IMAP protocol cannot be used to send email because it handles IMAP message recovery. Instead, IMAP will be used to receive messages.

What is POP3?

In addition to IMAP, there is another protocol for receiving email – called POP3.

POP stands for Post Office Protocol. And the number three stands for “version 3,”. POP3 does not coordinate with the server.

What’s the difference between IMAP and POP3?

IMAP vs POP3

IMAP stores the message on one server and syncs the message across multiple devices. Read/delete/reply messages will be displayed on the server and in the mail application.

POP3, on the other hand, POP3 does not coordinate with the server. Messages marked as read/deleted/replied to in the mail application will not be displayed on the server. Downloads the email from the server to a computer and then deletes the email from the server.

Do you want to use POP3 or IMAP?

It depends on your choice.

In general, IMAP is very powerful and is the recommended method for receiving email if you work on multiple devices.

Alternatively, if you want to access all emails offline, and you have the designated device for emailing, POP would be an appropriate option.
